Material Selection


Brass is an alloy mainly composed of copper and zinc, whose performance can be adjusted by modifying the zinc content and adding other alloying elements.Its microstructure changes with the zinc content:

● Single-phase brass is formed when the zinc content is below 35%;

● Duplex brass (α+β) is formed when the zinc content ranges from 36% to 46%;

● β brass is formed when the zinc content exceeds 46%.

In terms of mechanical properties, zinc content has a significant impact on the strength and plasticity of brass:The tensile strength (σb) and elongation (δ) of brass increase with the rise of zinc content; the strength of duplex brass (α+β) keeps rising when the zinc content is below about 45%, and drops sharply after that due to the appearance of brittle phases, while its plasticity decreases continuously with the increase of zinc content. Brass with high hardness and brittleness cannot be subjected to plastic working.

In terms of machinability, brass (e.g., H96 to H65) features good plasticity and can undergo hot and cold working.


Process Control


The core quality requirement for counterweights is weight control with a tolerance of ±0.5g, which places extremely high demands on stamping mold design and process stability of stamping equipment. Such a precise tolerance range requires top-tier performance of processing equipment (e.g., stamping machines, mold design), stable process conditions and reliable fixtures (e.g., temperature control, vibration suppression); any minor deviation may lead to product quality defects.

We adopt advanced manufacturing processes to ensure this precision: realized through high-precision measuring instruments (e.g., Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Roundness Tester, Profile Measuring Instrument), strict process control (e.g., Statistical Process Control (SPC)) and a stabilized machining environment, which guarantees batch production consistency.

Application Value: The core function of motor counterweights is to balance the mass distribution of motor rotors, thereby reducing or eliminating vibration and noise generated during rotation and ensuring the stable and reliable operation of motors. During the manufacturing or use of motor rotors, uneven mass distribution is likely to occur due to material inhomogeneity, machining errors, component wear and other factors, leading to center of mass offset. When the rotor rotates at high speed, this imbalance will generate centrifugal force, causing obvious vibration and noise, which not only reduces motor efficiency, but also accelerates the wear of bearings and other components and shortens service life. Counterweights offset this imbalance through additional counterweight, making the rotor's center of mass closer to the rotational axis and effectively suppressing vibration. In practical applications, counterweights can significantly improve the stability and safety of motor operation, reduce noise interference and extend the service life of key components, thus playing a crucial role in industrial motors, home appliances, new energy vehicles and other fields.


Surface Treatment


Counterweights operate in the harsh internal environment of motors and are prone to corrosion after long-term use. Our company has a professional and experienced core R&D team; through years of practical experience and repeated trials, we have developed a dedicated surface treatment process for this product. Appropriate surface treatment is applied with no manual contact with products throughout the entire process, which not only enhances the corrosion resistance of products to meet industry standards, but also reduces the risk of product collision caused by human contact and ensures the operational stability of products.

Other surface treatment methods such as electrophoresis and spray painting are also available and can be fully customized according to customer requirements.
